Garage off Track Repair
If your garage door is off track, it’s usually due to a broken cable, a misaligned track, an obstruction, or a hit to the door. This is a common issue — and often fixable without replacing the entire system. Use pliers to slightly open the track where the roller came out. Guide the roller back into the track. Use a mallet to gently reshape the track once it’s back in.

Disconnect the Garage Door Opener
Pull the red emergency release cord to disconnect the door from the opener. This allows you to move the door manually.
Secure the Door
If the door is partially open, prop it up with locking pliers on the track or a sturdy support under the door. Do not allow it to slam shut—this can damage the door and hurt someone.
Realign the Rollers
Guide the roller back into the track. Use a mallet to tap the track back into shape. Tighten any loose bolts or brackets.
Check Track Alignment
Use a level to make sure vertical and horizontal tracks are straight and parallel.
Reconnect the Opener
Pull the emergency cord toward the door to re-engage the opener trolley. Test manually first, then electronically.
